The three winners will receive mentorship from female music executives, live performance opportunities, and advice on influencer marketing campaigns to help further their careers.
ATLANTA, May 2, 2022 – SeeHer, the leading global movement to eliminate gender bias in advertising and entertainment, and music tech startup Breakr, are excited to announce that Amanda AdamsBrianna Knight, and D’anna Stewart have been chosen as the winners of #HerBigBreakContest. The contest, which was open to emerging women artists, aims to support female musicians by giving them the tools and resources they need to continue developing their careers. Adams, Knight, and Stewart will participate in a four-week accelerator program that includes mentorship from female music executives, advice on influencer marketing campaigns, and the opportunity for a live performance on Twitch, to help further their careers.
The accelerator program is part of SeeHer’s SeeHer Hear Her music initiative, which is working hard to eliminate gender bias in the industry and increase the percentage of women in front of and behind the mic. The organization partnered with Breakr, a marketplace that seamlessly connects emerging artists and brands directly with influencers, for this inaugural #HerBigBreakContest to elevate women in music and empower female artists.
“We were delighted by the vast number of incredible submissions for our first #HerBigBreakContest,” said Jeannine Shao Collins, president, SeeHer, Association of National Advertisers (ANA). “SeeHer Hear Her is striving to bring more visibility to women in music. Last year, women made up less than a quarter of artists and less than fifteen percent of songwriters across popular songs. There is clearly more work to be done and our partnership with Breakr is a key first step to help emerging artists. We are excited to see Amanda, Brianna, and D’anna grow their music careers.”
Knight, Stewart, and Williams will be advised on marketing and branding from leading professionals, as well as given the opportunity to speak with songwriters, DJ’s, producers, and engineers to better understand the industry. Before their live performances on Twitch, the three winners will partake in media training to get more comfortable engaging with press.
The artists will also be mentored by and network with leading music executives. In addition to the previously-announced mentors, Donna Lamar, Executive Creative Director at Spotify; Tolu Ayeni, Music Partnerships, Instagram; Coco and Breezy, Producers/DJs and CEOs of Coco and Breezy Eyewear; Morgan Wilkinson, Creator Partnerships, Group Black; Poizon Ivy, Dallas Mavericks DJ Personality; Lynn M. Scott, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Hitco; MILCK, Singer/Songwriter and SeeHer Advisory Board Member; and Tiffany Miranda, Engineer/Producer, CEO of Girls Make Beats, have signed on as mentors.
“There should be more resources for women artists because a lot of the music industry is built from relationships,” said musical duo and mentors Coco and Breezy. “It’s important that we share our resources, relationships, and advice with up-and-coming musicians to help set them up for success.”

About SeeHer
SeeHer is the leading global movement of media, marketing and entertainment leaders committed to the accurate depiction of women and girls in advertising and media. Launched in 2016 by the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) in partnership with The Female Quotient (The FQ), SeeHer is changing how females are portrayed in media. To help members benchmark success, SeeHer spearheaded the development of the Gender Equality Measure® (GEM®), the first research methodology that quantifies gender bias in ads and programming. GEM® proves that content accurately portraying females dramatically increases both purchase intent and brand reputation. The GEM® methodology quickly became the industry standard, winning the prestigious ESOMAR Research Effectiveness Award in 2017 and leading to its global rollout in 2018. Since 2019, the movement has expanded its verticals to include sports (SeeHer In Sports) and music (SeeHer Hear Her).
