As CMO of a dynamic global law firm, I am proud to be part of an organization that doesn’t just talk about important issues but takes action. At Reed Smith, we drive progress though diversity and inclusion each and every day—within the firm and across the legal profession.

We could not be more delighted that Reed Smith is leading the way as the first law firm to join the #SeeHer movement. This movement—which strives to increase accurate and positive portrayals of women and girls in the media—works as an extension of our longstanding dedication to the advancement of women in our firm and beyond. I see our commitment to women every day at Reed Smith. One example is the Women’s Initiative Network of Reed Smith, our firm’s global virtual practice group dedicated to developing, rewarding, engaging, and attracting women lawyers. We are invested in the advancement and success of our women professionals and provide the resources they need to realize their fullest potential.

#SeeHer and Reed Smith are a natural fit. To celebrate this, we have embarked on a campaign of short films to showcase the inspirational women of Reed Smith. These women share personal stories about the pursuit of gender equality, and we hope that the stories inspire and motivate women in all industries.

“I always assumed I could be Batgirl and when you assume you can be Batgirl, you don’t pay any attention to anybody else’s expectations…because you’re Batgirl” – Carolyn Duronio

Reed Smith’s commitment does not stop at equality for women but extends to diversity and inclusion for all. It is central to the culture of Reed Smith. Our Diversity & Inclusion program includes all personnel, not just lawyers. This promotes our inclusive culture, regardless of title, and demonstrates the value of diverse experiences and perspectives. We recently introduced business inclusion groups that enable attorneys and administrative staff to work together to achieve the firm’s goals of recruiting, developing, mentoring, and retaining diverse personnel.

Reed Smith is proud to be a part of the #SeeHer movement, and we look forward to seeing its positive impact on advertising, media, and beyond.
